About
Overview: This course offers 12 robust classes designed to train individual board members for service on a non-profit Christian school board. Each class provides several instructional videos, required reading, discussion questions, assessment tools, a quiz reviewing new concepts, and bonus material for continued learning. The course is designed for self-paced learning. Dedicated individuals can complete each of the 12 classes in one week and the full course in about three months. Who: Designed for board members seeking to gain understanding of best practice in non-profit Christian school board governance. This course can also be used as 1) training of new members being brought onto the board, 2) vetting potential members, or 3) training a new Head of School to work with a board. How: Best results come from all board members completing the course at the same time and then requiring new board members to complete the program when joining the board. This can be done by purchasing all board members a seat in the class and asking everyone to complete the course in three months. Or, a board might choose to purchase the class for each member, but use each of the 12 classes as a strategic monthly developmental plan for the board. Note: Serving on the board is a wonderful opportunity. However, there is often little or no guidance when it comes to the role and expectation of the school board. Our hope is that this course will provide you with best practice for strategic and visionary Christian school board governance. This course is not designed for operational board involved in the daily life of administrative and staff responsibilities. However, it is amazingly effective at organizing boards with clearly defined structure, responsibilities, forms, and timelines. Remove the frustration from your board by making this robust Christian school board governance program part of your ongoing board development and training.
